Why the fuck does it have to go to name calling and ad hominem β€œATBoz”? This attitude sucks. It’s entirely possible to like something different without disrespecting those who don’t agree, see every other comment on this thread for tips. Thanks for coming to my teddeadjed talk

I'm glad justice is being served here against this just okay, but very long, Rosewood. Was worried you psychos might actually push this thing into the finals ;)

This Wysteria was my #3 overall. It is a top 5 Wysteria ever imo, which is saying something considering how many great versions of this song there are over the years.

When I read some of the comments here I just can’t help but shake my head in pity. I wish you could hear what we hear in this Rosewood, not taking anything away from the Wysteria which is fantastic, but let’s be real this Rosewood would have won JOTY in most prior years

This rosewood is so good but that’s the beauty of this band, so many styles to choose.

Tough pick - all I can say is the Alph Madhuvan should be the one advancing over these two!

Funk you guys, this Rosewood is IT. Absolutely everything that I go to see Goose for. Yes, I was there and have attendance bias. This set is essentially a big Madhuvan sandwich and the Rosewood is the stack of meat in the middle. And yes, I gave the Wysteria a chance but after about 20 minutes my ears felt empty.

Some of the shade being thrown at this Rosewood in the comments below is laughable - completely get it if people like the Wysteria more (or even a lot more), but let's not pretend this Rosewood isn't incredible - either way, do yourself a favor if you didn't catch the livestream at the time and watch the video (if you have the patience), because it's an exercise in viewing 4 guys operating in an unreal form of musical lockstep for nearly 40 minutes / simply rocking out flawlessly....and that aspect is what I don't think people fully understand or evaluated when it comes to a monster jam of this length.

The Funk Freight Train that is Boisewood vs the Spanish Space Expedition that is the Shohio Wysteria. Both deserving sweet 16 accolades, however it’s the end of the tracks for the Cotter Tweekz Rosewood locomotive. Albeit a ton of fun and a dance party that doesn’t want to end this Rosewood tends to be a one trick pony. The Wysteria is layered with multiple ideas thread throughout and takes us on this beautiful journey. Dare I say almost brought to a Hollywood Nights before the bliss? This has a chance getting to the Final Four going head to head vs a winter tour Madhuvan.

Wysteria is my favorite jam played outside of February and easily deserves to move on here. It captures the biggest strengths of 2025 Goose and throws them into one jam. The band flawlessly moves through each of its distinct section and shows the best efficiency of the year. Trevor is absolutely on fire throughout this jam, playing one of his most captivating bass lines starting at 8:15. Such an awesome jam where the band is really locked in and playing off of each others ideas.

This Rosewood reminds me of those 30-40 minute Mountain Jams the Allman Brothers would do. Really tight jamming where they hammer down on one idea for the whole time. When thinking about JOTY though, I like to think about the bands biggest jamming improvement made during the year. I think the biggest improvement last year was reducing jam length and making them more efficient. This Rosewood does the opposite of that. While I love how tight they nail this jam, at the end of the day it goes against what I look for in a JOTY winner, which is why I’m rolling with Wysteria.

I don’t think either is final four worthy and I typically won’t vote for bliss but wysteria by a hair I guess as the rosewood just has too much filler

The Boise rosewood is a lesson in patience and will reward if you pass. It is the 2nd best jam in this tournament (2nd to only 02/15 Madhuvan imo), and absolutely deserves your time and attention. Please reconsider people! I will cry if it doesnt win

Neither of these jams are Elite 8 material and shouldn't even be here.

Iif you put a gun to my head I'm going Wysteria since i wasted 35 minutes of my life getting to 5 decent minutes of Rosewood.

Reading the comments, I feel like I'm missing something. I like this Wysteria, but this Rosewood kicks ass. It's a joy party from start to finish and deserves better than the rubbish heap.

In short I’m voting for efficiency here and that’s this Wysteria. My reasoning is as follows.
The Rosewood starts as a solid dance jam and does some fun things early on in the jam then they pivot and seem to really hit a creative block and get stuck in this groove that really doesn’t nothing and gets stale. To the bands credit they power through and the pay off in the last 9 minutes is straight fire. I just wish they would’ve gotten to that space before the 30 minute mark of the jam and it definitely lost some points there. It feels like a chore to put this jam on and see it through to the final minutes tbh.
This Wysteria is almost an inverse to the Rosewood in that they get to a really cool dissonant space immediately and stay there to really explore that space before executing a huge pivot into a great bliss section to close it out. For me this Wysteria gets more done in half the time of this rosewood and therefore moves on.

This is where I really wish one (or both) of these were ranked just one spot higher or one spot lower. I could easily see both of them moving on to the Elite Eight or even the Final Four if they were in a different region… and It sucks that one of my top four jams is going home today (and another one of them could lose out to the Milwaukee Madhuvan next round).

I had this Rosewood as my top jam, but unfortunately… the rest of the community wasn’t as enthusiastic about it. If the jam being more than 37:00 is part of the problem, there are two ways to look at it... either break it up into its parts (ballad, transitional jam, pre-funk jam, throw-down funk jam) and enjoy each adventure, or start it at right around 17:30 and let the really funky stuff ride for the next 20 minutes.

Wysteria is one of my favorite Goose tunes in general, and overall... the Kemba show was one of the best shows of the year (still shocked the Columbus Arrow didn’t make the bracket). This version is phenomenal, and can easily stand its ground in the Finals. Sadly, it probablt beats this Rosewood... but I'm good if it takes down the Milwaukee Madhuvan in its wake. I guess it will come down to how much diversity people want to see in the Final Four.

Toughest region of the bracket for sure!

Ok I get that people love this Rosewood and I even get why. I am also fond of it!

But enough is enough. It's time to let the varsity team take over now. This Wysteria is a truly elite Juggernaut. My #5 overall and I wouldn't be the least bit mad if it won the whole thing. It has all the makings of a bonafide JOTY! This one is the full package, folks.

Vote for the best jam of the Fall. Vote Wysteria.

With apologies to Los Feliz Ghost, it's time to put this swollen RWH performance to pasture. I will admit that it's meaningfully grown on me over time. But I still find too much of it far too uninteresting (just jamband noodly dance funk generica) and long for the admittedly very strong payoff in the closing minutes. RWH is one of my favorite songs compositionally, and it's produced some killer jams (including a worthy past JOTY). I'm glad this one is in the tourney and made it this far. It's a shame it needs to run into Wys here.

But it does run into this Wys. One of the few recent ones that didn't get ripcorded, and certainly the best since Portland 2024, this Wys highlights the band's full arsenal of capabilities. Multi-sectional, moody, blissy, dark (at times), explorative, and emphatic. And at half the length of RWH, efficient. I think it could have benefited from a post-peak exploration (as the best Wyses do), but we haven't had those since 2023.

Quite an early lead for this Wysteria! This Wysteria will be my region champ, so it gets my vote with ease here. No disrespect intended for this Rosewood, but I choose the option that is special all the way through to the one that makes you wait an awfully long time to get to a special place.

Wysteria ALL THE WAY here! Really sick two-guitar churn section and a GORGEOUS bliss outro - my #6 overall for the year

Had Rosewood at #28 and stand by that - it's a really cool jam that gets pretty intense toward the end but also sits for a long time without doing much.

Tough matchup and I'm afraid my beloved Boise Rosewood may not make it past this glorious Wysteria Lane. Glad to have been there to catch the wave and completely lose track of time on board the Groovetown Express!
