Holy crap, down to 1 vote with 10m left, now a flip for Drip with a 2 vote lead. Didnβt expect this regionβs Sweet 16 to be so interesting!
2 vote differential with 14 minutes to go.........
Closest matchup yet? Down to the wire. Come on Dripfield, just need a couple more votes!
Idk how Fish made it this far, so my vote is for Drip!!!
This is my personal GR Mad v MKE EMG, will most likely vote for the winner of this matchup the rest of the way
1 week ago
Wow, super close! This Dripfield was my #4 overall and this FITS was my #5. I'm sticking with that and voting Drip here at the eleventh hour.

We got an upset brewing. Cmon community. 3-vote gap. Lean in and push Dripfield over the top

Had to listen to these multiple times to choose one over the other. Ultimately the drip jam spoke to me more than fits. Both are fantastic. Happy voting!
Both are great jams but I love the Drip more. Happy voting!

Drip takes a while to became unique to every other dripfield, and it's lovely, but not real JOTY-ish IMO. FITS is definitely more complex / diverse / multi-part-ish and is an easy vote here.... would add that the Cleveland FITS a week earlier is possibly better. but going FITS here.
hot take: if the Cleveland run occurred in February, it'd have just as many songs on the JOTY bracket as MKE or GR.

Holy smokes! This is so close. Even after listening (again) itβs still such a tough vote. Excited to see how this plays out in the final hours.

Toughest matchup of the bracket.
Leaned Drip.
Both great jams.

This should be an easy vote. Let go of your attendance bias and vote for the better jam: FITS.

6/27 Gilford FITS was a jam clinic π₯π Easy vote.
This Dripfield didnβt even sniff my top 25

Two of the absolute best. GR Drip has my heart and my vote. So listenable over and over.
FITS is gorgeous too and it will be in my regular rotation for a long time to come

I've pretty much lost faith in this community and wonder how I even like a band that you guys do when you vote the way you do. Mic dropped.

I Knew both were good. So I took an attitude adjustment ripper and listed to both.
DF was the one! Loved every minute. Fish has some parts that didnβt do it for me.

Drip from 17 min on is so elite it wins the day in the end. Close
off bsky for good so see ya around

Re-watch FIS on Nugs, then re-watch Drip.......then aw hell yes, finish that second set fron GRN2, might just be SOTY.

I loved FitS to begin with but it continues to get better every relisten.

Team FitS on this one. Really good Drip, but a special Fish. Not especially close for me given how far along we are in tourney. Had FITS #8 on my list and Dripfield #18 and wouldn't change that.
Agreed 100% with Jarmo right below - also nothing for nothing I dig the Milwaukee Fish a lot more than the 6/27 one here. This Drip deserves to move onto the Elite 8!

Dripfield was my JOTY when I submitted my list but has since been re-surpassed by 2 other monsters. This Fish in the Sea is brilliant but not one of them. The GOAT Drip should survive another round.

While this Dripfield is great, I feel I need something a little more frantic and chaotic today. Enter into the conversation... this Fish in the Sea from Gilford.
Not sure how either of these fare against Hoffman for this region... not sure how any of them fare against Madhuvan or Wysteria in the semi-finals. I suppose congratulations is in order, however.... it was quite the upset.

Love the matchup.
This one's for Migs.

An amazing FITS from an amazing second set in Gilford, NH. A great Dripfield, yes, but this is the GOAT FITS. Vote for the GOAT.

Thisπ§jam is the essence of water carving rock, slow, erosive, ebb and flow, but consitant and steady, growing and shaping its surroundings. Headphones on, eyes closed, head nodding with the groove, culminating into a sense of weightlessness. Not waiting for anything, just an enjoyable ride if you can be present and immerse for 26 minutes.

Gotta say it again, second set in New Hampshire was some of the best stuff Iβve ever heard. Felt I was taken into another world!

Tough call - I agree with JNeimer - love the end of that Drip but may be more of an intro to TOS - perfect segue regardless - Fish does more throughout and gets my vote

As much as the attendance bias wants me to vote for Drip, thereβs no denying that this is FITS is the better jam. Both these jams share a lot of qualities and feel related in a way. Both jams show the strongest cohesiveness all year and are absolutely relentless throughout. Both jams also have a blissful and elegant post peak jam, only the FITS one feels more out of place and forced in. Biggest difference between these jams is how the FITS develops the much more dynamic and explosive dark Latin jam, while this Drip stays very structured. Thereβs not a dull moment in this jam, and itβs so engaging and fun to listen to it develop. The band is playing with such a fiery sound that forcefully builds this jam. FITS to the championship!

Love both of these, Drip in my top 5 and FITS in my top 10. Whatever wins here should hopefully beat the DH.

I voted Drip. Another example of the jam growing on me quite a bit during this tournament. I definitely feel like anything from 2/14 didn't get my love and attention as much because of the show and jams that followed the night after.
Just not a big fan of this Fish. I thought it was fine (and fun!) in person, but this will now be the third time I am voting against it. Each round I have relistened to it I am stretching, struggling, grasping at straws to find something I think is really good in it, and I always come up empty. I'm never a big fan of "mideast" vibes which the first part of the jam gives off.
Now that I'm done listening listening to FitS I'm popping on 2/15 to lift my spirits!!! One year ago today baby!

How did bend thatch go down⦠a las, in GR Blissfield we trust

Voting against my bracket for the 2nd day in a row today.
I slightly prefer the Gilford FITS to the GR Drip. But had a suspicion that the voters might push Drip through instead. If a Dustin Hoffman victory yesterday didn't blow my bracket... a Fish win today most certainly will.
I voted Fish! Let's see what happens.

Voted Drip but wonβt complain about FITS moving on. Two excellent jams here, both in my top ten.
Easy fish for me here
Iβd legit have no problem with either of these tunes representing this region in the final 4β¦as amazing as this Drip is, I find myself eager to get to its last few minutes vs. enjoying every minute of this incredible Fish like I do. Thatβs the deciding factor for me in this battle of epic vs. epic. Fish gets my vote.

Anspach executes a #1 seed again. Well done, Peter

Both were in my top ten but fish was in my top five

Incredible Dripfield, one of my favorites and after many listens I like it more than Phoenix.. however, this Fish is so fantastic its hard to imagine it not moving on
